The publisher behind the magazine.
This magazine is the culmination of the publisher’s 30-plus years of professional pet grooming, blending her three passions: professional pet grooming, education, and journalism.
Heather has a double-major bachelor’s degree in public relations and journalism with a minor in global sustainability, and has recently finished her master’s degree through The George Washington University College of Professional Studies in publishing.
During her time in Kansas City, Missouri, she became a Missouri Master Naturalist, performing different tasks such as physical prairie seed collection with the Nature Conservancy and sturgeon monitoring with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, as well as helping to educate our next generation of eco-warriors.
Needless to say, she has a passion for all those who cannot speak for themselves. She has years of professional pet grooming under her belt, from owning her own brick-and-mortar, to building a mobile trailer, to working out of mobile vans, as well as working as a groomer at veterinary clinics.

Lindsey Dalton – Furst Coast Mobile Pet Grooming
Hi, I’m Lindsey Dalton! I’m 35 years old and have been professionally grooming dogs since 2012. Over the years, I’ve developed a passion for providing one-on-one, low-stress grooming experiences that put each pet’s comfort and well-being first.
Outside of grooming, I have a serious case of wanderlust. Some of my favorite destinations are the rugged coastlines of Maine, the tropical beauty of St. Lucia, and the breathtaking Pacific Northwest. Each offers incredible scenery, unforgettable experiences, and, just as importantly, an amazing food scene. I’m always on the hunt for memorable local restaurants, so it’s safe to say I’m a big foodie.
When I’m home, you’ll usually find me unwinding in my Florida backyard. I’m constantly planting another tropical in the garden, taking a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, or relaxing with great music playing in the background. My playlist leans heavily toward ’90s alternative, and lately Jane’s Addiction and Alice in Chains have been in constant rotation. I also love discovering jazz, funk, and indie artists, with Monophonics being one of my current favorites.
I’ve also had a lifelong interest in astrology, which began in my early twenties and has become one of my favorite hobbies. I especially enjoy learning how to read birth charts and exploring the unique personalities they describe. As a Cancer with a Capricorn Moon, Sagittarius Rising, Mars in Aries, and a Libra Midheaven, I find it fascinating that many astrologers associate those placements with entrepreneurship, independence, and careers centered around caring for others including animals. Whether that’s coincidence or cosmic design, I love seeing how closely those interpretations mirror the path I’ve chosen. If I weren’t a dog groomer, I’d probably be studying astrology full-time!
Home wouldn’t be complete without my own little zoo. My husband, Ian, and I share our lives with four incredible pets that keep us busy and constantly entertained. Sen, our 16-year-old Shiba Inu, and Tetsuo, our 9-year-old Shiba Inu, have been the heart of our home for years. We also have two ginger cats with very different stories. Mr. Schmee was found wandering the streets by Ian, who insisted we bring him home and I’m so glad we did. Completing the family is Wilford, our adorable Exotic Shorthair (the famous “Garfield” cat breed), whose permanently grumpy face couldn’t be more misleading because he’s full of personality.
As much as we adore our furry family, we’re also hoping to grow our family in another way. Ian and I are currently trying to have a baby, and while we secretly think twins would be an incredible adventure, we’ll be overjoyed with whatever life has in store for us. Until then, our home is filled with plenty of wagging tails, purrs, and lots of love.
